Hisar: An 80-year-old woman was killed after being attacked by stray cattle at Srinagar Colony in Hisar on Wednesday, triggering shock and anger among local residents. The deceased has been identified as Santosh Devi. Devi was taken to Jindal Hospital in the city, where doctors found that she suffered a fractured leg and severe injuries to her abdomen and ribs. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday night. After a post-mortem examination, the police handed over the body to the family.
Her son, Satbir, said that his mother had stepped outside after having tea when se was attacked. "I was at a nearby temple at that time," he added.

Residents alleged that the problem of stray cattle persisted in Srinagar Colony for a long time. Despite repeated complaints to the Municipal Corporation, no concrete action was taken. Locals said minor accidents occur frequently, and the latest incident claimed the life of an elderly woman. They demanded immediate and effective measures from the authorities to prevent such tragedies in the future.
